Mabini Freediving Club

Booking terms

The details behind your booking — payment, weather, rescheduling, and cancellations — in plain language.

Booking & payment

Your slot is confirmed once we receive your booking deposit of [₱1,000] per person. The remaining balance of is due [on or before the session day]. Prices are per person and include [basic equipment(mask, snorkel, short fins), instructor, entrance fees, raw underwater media and availed add-ons]; they don't include [what's excluded — e.g. transport, meals, other personal expenses]. Slots are limited and first-come, first-served — a booking isn't held until the deposit is in.

Rain or shine

Sessions run in light to moderate rain. We only postpone when the venue is genuinely unsafe like an active PAGASA Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal over the venue, or the venue being inaccessible due to a calamity. That call is ours, based on venue conditions.

If we postpone/cancel

You may reschedule free, take booking credit valid 3 months, or request a refund of any amount not yet used.

Getting there is part of your booking

Our weather guarantee covers the venue, not your route. If the venue is safe and running but you can't make it — including flooding in your own area — the student terms in the next section apply. If you're travelling from outside Metro Manila, please plan extra time and check your route the night before.

Rescheduling & cancellation

These terms are based on how much notice you give, not on the reason — so they apply equally to everyone, whatever comes up (illness, emergencies, transport, personal reasons). With small class sizes, a reserved slot can't be refilled last-minute, so your [₱ 1000] deposit is non-refundable once these timelines pass:

  • 7+ days before: free reschedule, or a full refund
  • 3–6 days before: deposit non-refundable; reschedule for [₱500]/person
  • Under 3 days / no-show: deposit non-refundable; reschedule for [₱1,000]/person

You're always welcome to send someone in your place.

Severe-weather exception

If you need to cancel because PAGASA has a Red rainfall warning or a Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal (Signal No. 1 or higher) in effect over [Session location] on your session day — and the venue itself is safe, so we're still running — we'll give you back 50% of your deposit, either as a refund or as booking credit valid 3 months. This applies regardless of notice. Ordinary rain, Yellow or Orange rainfall warnings, or flooding without an official Red warning fall under the standard timelines above.

Please don't dive if you're unwell

Your safety comes first — if you're sick, injured, or not up to it, sit it out and never dive when your body says no. You won't lose your slot: reschedule under the terms above, or send someone in your place.

Health & medical fitness

Diving is a physical activity. Before your session you'll complete a standard medical questionnaire. If you have any existing medical conditions — heart or lung conditions, asthma, recent surgery, pregnancy, certain medications, and others — you'll need a doctor's clearance to dive. Please tell us about any condition in advance.

No alcohol before diving, and don't dive within [18–24] hours of drinking or if you're not fully rested.

Who can dive

Minimum age is [10]. Divers under 18 need a [parent or guardian's written consent], and a parent or guardian must be [present / reachable] during the session. Divers under 16 must be [able to swim / comfortable in water].

Arrival & what to bring

Please arrive [5-10 minutes before] so we can start on time. Latecomers may miss the theory session and, for everyone's safety, may not be able to join that session — treated as a no-show under the cancellation terms above.

Bring [swimwear, towel, reef-safe sunblock (if open-water), water, a change of clothes, valid ID(if driving to Paranaque venue)]. [We provide all basic dive equipment.]

Safety & instructor authority

Your instructor's or divemaster's decisions are final and are always about safety. They may end, shorten, or decline a dive — or ask you to sit out — if conditions, your health, or your comfort make it unsafe, and no refund is due when a dive is stopped for safety reasons.

You agree to follow all briefings, stay with your buddy or group, and dive within the limits of your training. We may refuse or stop service for anyone under the influence of alcohol or drugs, with no refund.

Risk & liability

Diving and water activities carry inherent risks. You'll sign a separate liability release and assumption-of-risk waiver before diving; participation isn't possible without it.

To the extent allowed by law, Mabini Freediving Club, its staff, and partners are not liable for injury, loss, or damage except where caused by our own negligence.

Photos & video

We may take photos or video during sessions for our records and social media. If you'd rather not appear in anything we post publicly, just let us know before or on the day and we'll respect that.

Groups & substitutes

You may transfer your slot to someone else at no charge — just let us know their name in advance so we can prepare their forms.

For group bookings, the person who books is responsible for the whole group's deposits, balances, and any reschedule fees, and the cancellation terms apply to the group as a whole.

Changes & force majeure

We may adjust the schedule, venue, or instructor when needed for safety or operational reasons, and we'll give you the closest equivalent. Events beyond our control — severe weather, government advisories, road or venue closures — are handled under the weather and postponement terms above.

Privacy

We collect your details only to manage your booking and keep you safe, in line with the Data Privacy Act (RA 10173). We don't sell your information or share it beyond what's needed to run your session.

By booking, you confirm you've read and agree to these terms.
